Rescue 29
Rescue 29-8 is a 1992 International cab and chassis with a Centinal walk thru body. Rescue 29-8 is first due out on motor vehicle accidents, industrial or agricultural accidents, and any high angle or confined space rescues.
Rescue 29-8 has seating for 6, three being SCBA seats. It is completely climate controlled for rehab and command post purposes. 29-8 also has a PTO generator on board with 150 ft cord reels off each side, two 1500 watt telescoping quartz lights on the front of the box and two 500 watt telescoping removable tripod quarts lights on the rear of the box.
Rescue 29-8 is set up to handle just about any type of rescue needed. It is equipped with a full Holmatro Rescue System, including cutters, spreaders, three rams, ram supports, and a secunet airbag restraint system. It carries a duo-simo pump and a personal portable power unit allowing us to run three hydraulic tools at once. There is also a 93-ton Paratech high-pressure airbag system on board. 29-8 carries a Quik-cut air chisel, cordless sawzall, cordless drill, hand tools, socket set, come-a-long and chains, loads of cribbing, and various other vehicle extrication tools. The rescue also carries 3 fire extinguishers, an ABC, a CO2, and a pressure water with foam. It also has a chain saw, shovels, irons, haz mat clean up supplies, lock out tag out kit, and a PPV fan on board.
Rescue 29-8 probably has more rope rescue/confined space rescue equipment than any unit in our region. There are six full body harnesses with buddy packs and helmets for our rescuers. 29-8 also has two rope bags carrying 150 ft of ½ inch rope and rigging for a haul or lower system, one bag with 300 ft of ½ rope and rigging, and a MARS prerigged 4-1 haul system. It also carries a tripod, stokes basket, SKED, KED, scoop stretcher, and 4 backboards. Rescue 29-8 also carries an MSA Orion multi-gas meter, an O2 bag, trauma kit, suction, and an AED.
